Weatherization is the nation's core program for delivering energy efficiency services to low-income households. The program's goal is to reduce energy costs to low-income persons by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. Weatherization specifically focuses on assisting low-income people, primarily elderly, persons with disabilities, families with children and households with high energy burdens. High energy costs are an excessive burden on low-income Americans. Weatherization alleviates this burden and improves the standard of living for these individuals and their families. GLEAMNS Weatherization Program serves the following counties: Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Newberry, Saluda, Anderson, Oconee, Pickens, Cherokee and Spartanburg.
